Fringe
Crossed Wires is proud to present the BBC Sounds Fringe!
Over three jam-packed days, BBC Sounds will treat podcast fans to a full weekend of completely FREE shows. Listeners can have a front seat for live podcast recordings and special sessions in the former Cole Brothers Department Store at Barker’s Pool, Sheffield. The famous Grade II listed building will be transformed into a vibrant BBC Sounds hub for the weekend, reimagining the historic retail space for an entirely new purpose.

The BBC Sounds Fringe will feature shows such as...
Gardeners' Question Time, the Shipping Forecast, Football Daily, Newscast, Rewinder with Greg James, Radio 2 Book Club with Sara Cox, One Person Found This Helpful with Frank Skinner, Indie Forever and Unwind Your Mind.
Podcast fans can also enjoy the BBC Sounds Garden, which offers a relaxed, open-air listening experience on deck chairs and bean bags. The Garden features a photo booth to capture digital memories at Crossed Wires — maybe with one of your favourite podcasters! Positioned at Barker’s Pool opposite Sheffield City Hall, open daily from July 4th to 6th, 11am to 10pm, it is the perfect spot to unwind in between festival sessions. There will also be a festival bar and an eclectic range of food stalls for festival goers.
Tickets for the BBC Fringe go live on Friday 6th June at 11am. They’re completely free, and you can reserve your spot for individual shows. Do note that entry on the day will be first-come, first-served, even with a ticket, so we recommend arriving early to secure your place.*
* As tickets are free, people often request more than they need, so we have to issue more tickets than there are seats available to allow for this. Entry into the show is on a first come, first served basis, and is not guaranteed.
